Marley & Me: Life and Love with
the World’s Worst Dog

Thursday, November 1, 2007
7:00 p.m. at the Sandusky State Theatre

John Grogan
After 76 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List, 23 of those weeks as #1, Marley & Me is still one of the best-selling novels available. It has also been published in teen and preschool editions, Marley: A Dog Like No Other and Bad Dog, Marley!

John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, and everything was perfect. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow fur ball of a puppy. Life would never be the same!

Marley quickly grew into a ninety-seven pound steamroller of a Labrador Retriever -- a dog
like no other.

Marley's misadventures included tearing through the house, neighborhood, town, beach, and
anywhere else he could, yet always winning hearts as he made a mess of things. Is it possible for humans to discover the key to happiness through a bigger-than-life, bad-boy
dog? Just ask the Grogans.

John Grogan is the Pennsylvania Columnist for the Philadelphia Enquirer. He previously
worked as a reporter, bureau chief, and columnist at newspapers in Michigan and Florida, and was editor-in-chief of Rodale's Organic Gardening Magazine. He has won numerous awards.

Marley & Me will be the featured book for this year's One Book, One Community: Erie County Reads, a community-wide program being offered through all five of the Erie County libraries (Bellevue, Huron, Milan-Berlin, Sandusky, and Vermilion). Throughout October, each library will host programs with a dog theme. For more information, visit the website at www.eriecountyreads.org.

Author John Grogan will come to the Sandusky State Theatre to discuss his book, Marley &
Me
, answer questions, and autograph books on Thursday, November 1, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public of Erie County. Tickets are not required. This event is funded by the Lange Trust of Sandusky Library.

Copies of the book, Marley & Me, will be available for purchase at Sandusky Library's AfterWords Gift Shop prior to the event and they will also be sold at the Sandusky State Theatre the night of the performance. You may bring your book to the author talk for Mr. Grogan to autograph.
